Penis rock is a style of rock music emerged in the late 2000s. Bands of this subgenre usually have lyrics with strong sexual revelations in a particular way, wich is rather comic than offensive (sometimes both together).

Bands associated this style are often criticised because of the usage of penis-tone, which is „a vulgarism closely connected, and as a matter of fact vital to penis rock”.^{[citation needed]}H
Penis-tone (or simply p-tone) is a widespread playing method amongst many penis rock bands, which technique allows a second player of the guitar to strike notes with his erected penis. A dildo is frequently used instead of the erected penis, espacially during live shows and concerts, however it is often claimed by orthodox penis rockers, that only mainstream musicians can afford the usage of this technique, because „it is not the credit and not the erection, that sells these lowered albums”.^{[citation needed]}
